After the conclusion of WWII, the sustained economic expansion in the United States precipitated a rapid advancement in film and television industries.

In the 1950s, Hollywood witnessed an emergence of highly popular denim jeans on screen, particularly when Marlon Brando and James Dean portrayed anti-hero characters. It is widely believed that these portrayals resonated with young people worldwide, capturing their hearts and establishing straight leg jeans paired with t-shirts and jackets as a swiftly emerging trend.

Concurrently, jeans evolved into a symbol of rebellion for dissatisfied members of the “beat generation” who sought to break free from societal norms and traditions. By the 1960s, approximately 90 percent of young Americans possessed at least one pair of jeans.

Made from 13.5 oz. selvedge denim (after one wash, it will reach about 14.5 oz.), 5-pocket style, these jeans feature a straight fit with a mid-high rise. Faithfully restore the details of the original version.

These jeans are slightly slimmer than our 44801 and slightly looser than the 47801XX.
